Description
A late 19th century silverplated brass tea glass holder by Jozef Fraget, the renowned Warsaw jewelry company. The firm was founded in 1824 by two French businessmen, the brothers Alphonse and Joseph Fraget. Decorated with floral and geometric motifs, mounted on three lion paws feet, the handle is modeled as a winged female figure. Hallmarks: inscription in Polish FRAGET W WARSZAWIE inside the oval, N letter means normal thickness of silver deposited onto the surface of the brass, the inscription GALW means GALVANIZATION and the coat of arms of the coppersmiths and bronze-smiths corporation depicting two crossed hammers with a pair of compasses.
