American Classical Bronze-Mounted Mahogany Pier Table

ca. 1825, the marble top over a figured frieze with inlaid brass stringing, raised on columns with bronze capitals and bases, on a figured concave low shelf supported by carved paw feet, the back with a mirror plate flanked by pilasters with giltwood capitals and bases, the marble later.

**Tight and stable. The marble top appears to be a later replacement. There are losses to one of the paired lines of brass stringing at the base of the apron. One loss, about 3", is on a corner of the front; the other is about 10" on a return. There are no veneer shrinkage tears in the lower shelf. There are some small flakes to the lower vertical edge of that shelf. There is some scattered lifting/losses to the finish. The back board over the mirror appears original.
