Description
Rare 120-year-old prop skeleton, attributed to Karl Germain, as used in several of his many stage illusions. It was hand carved for him just after 1900, according to research by Stuart Cramer, author of several books on "Germain the Wizard" by Germain's own father, Herr Mattmueller. Believed to be enameled basswood and composition materials. Herr Mattmueller was of failing eyesight at the time he created it. It has a charming folk art quality to it. In later years the skeleton was purchased and put to use by the renown McDonald Birch in several of his famous stage productions. The skeleton came to us from the collection of Devon Smith where it was displayed at his museum, House of Sorcery.
