Stock certificate 1389 issued on the 14th of April 1906 to E.C. Miller for 400 shares at $50 each or $20,000, equivalent to over $600,000 today. Miller was a banker and vice president of the Philadelphia Stock Exchange. The Edison Portland Cement Co. was formed in 1899 and used fine sand left over from his iron ore crushing operation to make a superior strength concrete. Certificate is signed by W. (Walter) Mallory who was vice president of the company. A receipt of acceptance from E.C. Miller and signed by him is attached. Condition good with 3 vertical creases from folding. Good corners. Measures 11.75" wide 8" tall.
