A Tibetan Silver Travelling Shrine, Ga‘u
QING DYNASTY (1644-1912)
清 藏銀噶烏盒
of tiered form having a curved recto and verso with pointed corners, depicting fourteen deities in four registers; at bottom, three wrathful deities surmounted by eight peaceful figures holding alms bowls, further surmounted by a central figure of a lama wearing a pandita hat; the registers framed by architectural elements resembling a pagoda roof, having a lotus base.
Length 6 in., 15.2 cm.
