Pair of bas-relief panels “Industry” and “Commerce” depicting Columbia standing atop a globe supported by a spread-wing eagle with a shield at its breast. Mock-ups created for the entrance to the original Kansas City Federal Reserve Building located at 928 Grand Street, designed by Graham, Anderson, Proust and White and built in 1914. Hering was an assistant to his mentor, Augustus Saint-Gaudens. Signed “H.H.” lower right.
Plaster, 25” x 10”. Framed 26.5” x 11.5”.

Small chip at base of one. One with hairline crack. Framed and conserved by the Williamstown Art Conservation Center.
