Attributed to James Sharples (Sharpless) (British (active Pennsylvania, New York), 1751/52-1811), undated, oil on metal panel, pair of oval half length portraits depicting a shipping merchant with his ships in the background, one named "Morant", and his wife, having no apparent signatures, numeric inscriptions to verso of metal panel, D.B. Butlers labels en verso to backing board, framed.
