Susannah Willard Johnson was an 18th-century American who is best-known for being taken captive by Abenaki Indians during the French and Indian War. The events of her captivity became widely popular in America and Canada thanks to her record of imprisonment.

“One of the most interesting of all the Indian captivities. She was captured at Charlestown, New Hampshire, in 1754, carried through what is now Vermont to Canada where she resided several years, and returned to New Hampshire by the way of England and New York”.
