Goliathus Beetle Deconstructed and Mounted. Goliathus beetle specimen (Goliathus), deconstructed and mounted on a wooden base in a metal and glass display case. Goliath beetles are named after the biblical giant Goliath as they are the largest insects in the world. They can be found in tropical forests climates, mainly Africa, where their diet is tree sap and fruit. They have been raised in captivity with great success by allowing them to feed on a protein rich diet of cat and dog food! Provenance: Creel and Gow. Size: 11'' x 13'' x 13'' (28 x 33 x 33 cm). Property from the Jim and Kit Horne Collection.
