Cotton warp ikat man's shawl/skirt, having nine horizontal bands with skull trees, men, stags, birds, horse-like animals, and geometric forms in red, blue and black. Provenance: Acquired in 1980 from Anita E. Spertus and Robert J. Holmgren, authors of "Early Indonesian Textiles from Three Island Cultures", published 1989 in conjunction with the exhibit "Early Indonesian Textiles from Three Island Cultures" at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, NYC. Approx. 109" x 63".Provenance: Estate of Cayce Odom of Charlottesville, VA.
