Mitchell Fulcher (NC, 1869-1950), Brant

Stacy, North Carolina, Mitchell made twelve brant for his son, Cartie, this decoy is from Cartie's stand, it is believed that Cartie may have added the red glass eyes.
Length 17.5 in.
Mitchell is Carteret County finest carver and his decoys have reached international acclaim. He was a perfectionist in all of has endeavors and very artistic as evidenced by his decoys. Mitchell made at least three different styles of brant.
Former collection Kroghie Andresen.
Former collection of Julian Hamilton, Jr.
From the hunting rig of Cartie Fulcher.
