IV.
Egon Leo Adolf Schiele, better known as Egon Schiele (Tulln an der Donau, Austria, June 12, 1890-Vienna, Austria, October 31, 1918), was a contemporary Austrian painter and printmaker and a disciple of Gustav Klimt. He was, along with Oskar Kokoschka, the highest representative of Austrian Expressionism. In his short but eventful life of him, I have produced 340 paintings and around 2,800 drawings. His life was surrounded by an aura of mysticism and talent from the beginning. His creative work includes poems and photographic experiments. His particular style placed him among the expressionist movements, especially of the Vienna Secession, with a very personal typology. One of the strongest characteristics of Schiele's painting is the dexterity and firmness of his stroke, which continued once started without respite, until the end, without any subsequent correction. It seems that the artist continued with the drawing of him without caring if the model moved or changed places, since the line continued its course carrying all its emotional dimension of it.
