Central Asia, India, ca. 19th century CE; Southeast Asia, Burma (modern-day Myanmar), ca. 19th century CE. A fine gathering of 6 cast-brass figurines in a variety of forms. First are 2 Burmese brass pieces: a seated Guanyin figure wears a tall hat and sits with hands in the Bhumisparsha mudra, and a squat hintha bird with incised feathers and a massive, corkscrew-tipped tongue. A Burmese cosmetic vessel features a piriform body atop a thin foot as well as an intricate, openwork applicator with Islamic script on both sides. A trio of Indian figures include a standing female dancer holding a slender drum, a figure of Krishna holding a ball of butter, and Saraswati seated on a large peacock while playing a sitar. Size of largest (Saraswati): 3" W x 2.625" H (7.6 cm x 6.7 cm); 3.3" H (8.4 cm) on included custom stand.

Provenance: ex-private collection of actor Anthony Quinn and his wife Katherine, Bristol, Rhode Island, USA acquired prior to 2000
