Europe, ca. 19th century CE. A lovely brass plaque presenting the relief of a winged Victory fleeing from flames as she holds an annular shield in her left hand and a spear in her right. The youthful beauty steps forward, her peplos cascading down her body and blowing in the wind as she looks back at the fire, displaying a round face crowned with a long braid. Size: 5.9" W x 9.4" H (15 cm x 23.9 cm); 11.9" H (30.2 cm) on included custom stand.
Provenance: ex-private collection of actor Anthony Quinn and his wife Katherine, Bristol, Rhode Island, USA acquired prior to 2000
