Eastern Europe, Greece, 20th century. Marked EPT XEIPOE and 925 for sterling silver on the base. Acquired by Anthony Quinn purportedly during the filming of Zorba the Greek, a Greek sterling silver vessel of an elegant form with a piriform body and a corseted shoulder rising to a short neck that resolves in a thick, ring-shaped mouth with twin perforated suspension lugs on the shoulders. The walls of the body and shoulder are beautifully embellished with striated patterns. A lovely Greek sterling silver vessel from the collection of legendary actor Anthony Quinn, acquired when he was filming Zorba the Greek. Size: 5.5" W from suspension lug to suspension lug x 5.5" H (14 cm x 14 cm) Weight: 252.9 grams. Silver quality: sterling (925)
