ENGLISH STAFFORDSHIRE HAND-PAINTED CERAMIC DOGS, LOT OF SIX, each sitting, wearing a collar with locket and a chain, comprising three poodle examples with encrusted clay fur including one pair with two separate front legs, and three spaniel examples including a pair with lustre accented fur, and one 4 1/2" H example with brownish red decoration. Marks to underside include stamped "MADE IN / ENGLAND" and [STA]FFORD / WARE / ENGLAND". Together with a figure of Abd-ul-Medjid on horseback standing on an ovoid base with "THE SULTAN" printed to front. Seven pieces total. Second half 19th century. 8 1/2" HOA.
