Description
IZANNAH WALKER (RHODE ISLAND, 1817-1888), ATTRIBUTED, FOLK ART PAINT-DECORATED CLOTH CHILD DOLL, an expressive example with brown eyes and painted boots. Fitted in period attire, including printed cotton dress, undergarments, and straw hat adorned with applied silk ribbon and dangling bead-like devices. Retains an early ink-inscribed note, presumably an exhibition label, which reads in part, "My name is / 'Sally Abby' / I was made in Fall River, Mass / About 1855 / Loaned by / Mrs. Chas. S. Furber." Mid 19th century. 17" HOA.

Condition
Very good overall visual condition with scattered minor moderate wear and discoloration. Areas of restoration and associated retouch to head and neck, mostly to backside. Damage and old repair to proper right leg.
