An antique French wood sewing chest containing (2) silver hollow handle scissors; (4) mother of pearl snowflake silk winders; a silver mounted scent bottle; a silver needle case; a silver bodkin; a silver thimble; a silver hollow handle stiletto, and a damaged mother of pearl multi purpose tool with various implements. Accompanied by a silver pencil - stamped, "925"; a French silver pierced barrel form tea strainer? with an interior gold wash; and a French silver porringer? with (2) handles. Total approx. weight of silver tea strainer and porringer is 2.96 troy oz (gross). From a Manhattan, NY estate. Dimensions: porringer measures approx. 3" in diameter.
Condition
Wood sewing chest exhibits a significant split located on the lid. Wood sewing chest also exhibits losses to veneer, swelling, separation, splits discoloration, and soiling. The lids handle is no longer affixed. The interior exhibits soiling, discoloration, and staining. The interior mirror is loose. One pair of hollow handle scissors is broken. Two mother of pearl silk winders are broken. Tea strainer is missing a handle And exhibits loss to its interior gold wash. Total approx. weight of silver items 2.96 troy oz (gross).
