Antonio Gattorno (1904-1980) Gouache portrait painting of a partially nude woman. Signed top left. Gattorno was one of the leaders in Cuba's modern art movement of the 20th century along with the group of Cuban painters known as the Vanguardia, including Winfredo Lam, Victor Manual and Amelia Pelaez. Antonio Gattorno was a friend of the owner of the painting and gave it to her in 1976, along with a signed book. The book, titled Gattorno was written by Ernest Hemingway and published in Havana Cuba in 1935. It is personally signed and dated by Gattorno in 1976. This rare edition of this book is numbered 277. The painting measures 19" x 23" (Framed 26.5" x 30.5")
