Description
A Victorian sterling silver three-piece tea service, Sheffield 1899 by Mappin and Webb Comprising a teapot, a milk jug and a twin handled sugar bowl. Each of ogee form with a gadrooned rim with shaped handles. The teapot with a curved spout opposite an ebonised shaped handle pinned to sockets, the hinged domed lid surmounted by a detachable fluted knop finial. Each engraved with a crest of a greyhound sejant collared and chained. Each fully and part-marked. (3) Teapot length – 28.6 cm / 11.25 inches Weight – 1074 grams / 34.53 ozt
