"...Margaret Fusbahn kommt als Rosa Margaretha Billwiller am 14. Juli 1907 in St.Gallen zur Welt und wächst in einer wohlhabenden Kaufmannsfamilie am Rosenberg auf. Mit 20 Jahren heiratet sie den deutschen Ingenieur Heinz-Werner Fusbahn. Margaret gehört zu einer Handvoll Flugpionierinnen, die sich in der Zwischenkriegszeit aufmachen, die Lüfte zu erobern.

Weltweit bekannt wird Margaret Fusbahn als es ihr im April 1930 gelingt, den internationalen Höhenrekord für Leichtflugzeuge in der Klasse C zu brechen. .... Sie nimmt an zahlreichen Flugwettbewerben teil. Ihr Mann Heinz-Werner lässt sich von ihrer Flugleidenschaft anstecken und erwirbt ebenfalls das Brevet. Sie werden als das «fliegende Ehepaar» bekannt. 1932 fliegen sie zum ersten Mal nach Äthiopien. Danach fliegt Heinz-Werner jährlich nach Afrika – ohne seine Frau. 1938 lässt sich Margaret Fusbahn scheiden..."
