Map frontispiece, 'illustrated' initial to each chapter opening, tailpiece vignettes to the end of most chapters. (Lightly toned). Original brown cloth, upper cover and spine blocked in gilt and black, patterned endpapers (light damage to spine, extremities bumped [see images]). Provenance: Benjamin C. Bancroft (1859 - 1920, of Denver, early ink stamp); John 'Jack' W. Klages (1922-2008, bookplate). An excellent copy of the first edition of "the first book that dealt exclusively with trout fishing in the Rocky Mountains" (Wetzel). The author of this work was a ‘local: a judge in Denver.
