Description
This is a zoetrope, a device that uses still pictures to create the illusion of motion. When the zoetrope is moving, you see nothing but a blur, but when a specially timed light shines on it, your eye is” tricked” into seeing movement, and the images come alive. Various paper "movies" included. Dimensions: H 14.25" x Dia. 11.75" Condition: Wood base in good shape but shows patina from age and use. Upper spinning metal "shade" shows paint loss and oxidation. The internal paper "movies" or "scenes" are wrapped in tissue but show age and toning.
Condition
All the items in this auction remain at our Annex Gallery location in Bridgeport, CT for pickup. Items must be picked up in the time frame of Wednesday, Monday February 21st- Friday, Friday February 25th, 9am-5pm, WEEKDAYS. We will offer in-house shipping to the Contiguous USA for select smaller items in this sale, please contact us prior to bidding for a quote as purchases are not contingent on shipping.
