Description

WHIMSICAL FOLK ART BIRD TREE by Ken Kirby, Little Egg Harbor, NJ. Twenty-five carved song birds in the Pennsylvania Dutch style. All in different poses. Some with open calling bills and spread wing carving. Detailed painted feather work to all. Average length of all is approximately 4 - 5 inches. All mounted on wire legs atop sassafras branches. The whole mounted on an antique bed spindle. Overall height from the bottom of the base to the top wing tip is approximately 41 inches. The bases with maker's brand. An outstanding folk art example. 1500-1800 (Pick up or Buyer to arrange shipping)
