Description
1903 Wizard of Oz 4 Book Lot Road to Oz Emerald City L Frank Baum Illustrated
A charming collection of novels exploring the fantastical world of Oz! While many readers know of the classic story of Dorothy Gale and how she travels to the magical land of Oz to have many adventures, author L. Frank Baum left a treasure trove of stories set in the whimsical world, to the point that the books implied that he was the Royal Historian of Oz. Several authors have carried on the tradition after Baums death, such as the addition of Ruth Plumly Thompsons addition to this lot. Of particular note is The Wizard of Oz, which is a reissue of the first edition printing and considered rare. It contains 15 full-page plates by W. W. Denslow, eight of which are in full color. All volumes included in this lot include in-text and full-page illustrations; Thompsons edition of The Wishing Horse of Oz also has 12 color plates.
