Yarborough, General William Pelham (American, 1912-2005), Pele Sleeps, 1989, oil on canvas, signed and dated lower right, and titled on the reverse, 18 x 24 inches, in a wood frame. Provenance: gift from the artist; The Estate of James Winokur, Pittsburgh, PA. Yarborough designed the U.S. Army's parachutist badge and the airborne jump uniform. He is known as the "Father of the Modern Green Berets." Yarborough's archive, which is held at Boston University, includes correspondence with Winokur from the 1970s.
