Description
A RÉGENCE STYLE MARBLE TOPPED CARVED WOOD CONSOLE TABLE, THIRD QUARTER 19TH CENTURY, the serpentine rectangular Sarrancolin Opéra marble top inset within a conforming leaf tip border, above an undulating trellis apron, centering a shell pendant framed by "C" scrolls and issuing long curling tipped acanthus leaves, flanked by tapering rocaille on tall cabriole monopodia legs with shell carved hips over inter-laced strapwork enclosing tapered bell flowers, ending with lion's paw feet joined by a shaped stretcher with foliate reeded sides and surmounted by an acanthus detailed bell form finial. Height: 41 1/4" Width: 72 1/4" Depth: 22 1/4"
Condition
Good restored condition for antique French furniture of this age, use, and materials including but not limited to normal age cracks, small chips, dings, scratches, and expected wear. It has pegged construction, is sturdy, was stripped leaving some thin white paint in areas, and followed with a brown tinted wax.
