Item Details

Description

A beautiful hand painted fancy Sheraton style French arm chairs with caned back and flame-stitched seat, late 19th century. The crest rail is hand painted with a floral swag over the caned back splat and also decorated with fan shaped ornaments in each corner. The arms decorated with black pin-striping and the turned legs and stiles painted with black vertical stripes to give the illusion of each being fluted. The chair measures 19 3/4"W x 20"D x 34 3/4"H x 19"H to top of seat. The chair with minor use wear to finish and the caning and upholstery in very good condition, no damage. Included in this sale is a matching arm chair with damaged caning, otherwise very good condition - the purchaser may take one or both chairs.
