A French late 19th century ormolu mounted mahogany armoire
in the Louis XVI style
Circa 1895, the arched cornice with two detachable acorn finials, mounted to the centre with a ribbon-tied Cupid love trophy and wheatsheaf cresting within a floral wreath, above a foliate and floral garland mount, over a pair of bevelled mirror inset panel mounted doors with re-entrant upper angles each surmounted by a cornucopia, enclosing a maple veneered panelled interior with a brass hanging rail and one later adjustable shelf above two short panel mounted drawers, with an alternating Vitruvian scroll and olive-leaf mounted plinth frieze below flanked by fluted and ring turned engaged columns, on toupie feet, 172cm wide x 73cm deep x 254cm high, (67 1/2in wide x 28 1/2in deep x 100in high)
