Modern, beautifully designed silver candlesticks, handcrafted by the German-American Jewish artist, winner of the Lifetime Achievement Award in the goldsmith's category, Prof. Kurt Matzdorf.
Matzdorf, who was sent to England on the Kindertransport, and thus survived the Holocaust, began his art studies in London even before the War's end. In 1949 he emigrated to America. Matzdorf is best known for the artworks and ceremonial objects that he created during his decades of activity in America. He founded and taught in the Department of Metals at the State University of New York and held the title of Professor Emeritus of Gold-and Silversmithing.

The Jewish Museum in New York recently honored Kurt Matzdorf's work by donating one of his silver Hanukkah Lamps to the White House of the President of the United States of America.
