Description
J. Seligmann, likely Joseph Emanuel Seligmann (Austro-Hungarian, late 19th/early 20th century), circa 1872-1922. A pair of Viennese stylized and streamlined early Art Deco style .800 silver candlesticks. Each with a tapering conical candlecup surmounting an elongated tapering shaft decorated with five ring in band over the spreading socle reeded base. Marked on bases with "SELIGMANNJ", triangular mark with "A B A" for , and assay mark with Dianakopf (Diana's Head) within floriform shape, letter designation for city obscured. One candlestick with partially obscured second mark. Approximate height 11.25", diameter of base 5.4", diameter of top 2.125". Total weight approximately 16.15 troy ounces.
