Description
A charcoal drawing of a woman playing a lute by Julio Castellanos (Mexican, 1905-1947). The work is signed J. Castellanos and dated with the inscription: Con Cariño Para (with love for): Juana Maria Zapata, Marzo 1935.
Dimensions are: framed 28 inches tall X 19 1/2 inches wide, 71.12 cm X 49.53 cm; sight 20 inches X 14 inches, 50.8 cm X 35.56 cm. All measurements are approximate.
Condition: There is a large rip on the lower half that goes to the middle of the work. The edges of the paper are creased and ripped. The work has yellowed with age.
Provenance: From a private VA collection.
