2nd-4th century AD. A hoop-like ring, polygonal on the outside and round inside, closed ended without plate, enigmatic inscription in Greek and Latin letters is engraved on the sectoral panels formed on the outside: See for the ring type De Ricci, S., Catalogue of a collection of ancient rings formed by the late E.Guilhou, Paris, 1912; Ruseva-Slokoska, L., Roman Jewellery, Sofia, 1991, no.224. 9.78 grams, 25.86mm overall, 20.80mm internal diameter (approximate size British W, USA 11, Europe 25, Japan 24) (1"). North American collection, 1990s-2000s. Property of a Surrey gentleman. The ring belongs to the variant 1 type III of the silver ring according the classification of Ruseva-Slokoska.
