What a wonderful and rare find. First what we know. This is a toy hangar with zeppelin inside that moves in and out with a small hand crank on the side. The hangar is topped with what appears to be the Mannheim flag with the front marked Leipzig LZ 17. The zeppelin is marked LZ17 Hansa which came to being in 1912 as a passenger ship. Zeppelin is marked on both sides. The hangar is painted gray for the roof and yellow for the building with vertical short gray stripes below the roof eaves. The zeppelin is painted in silver with black lettering. There are no visible markings for manufacture, What we don't know: I've only found 2 examples of this toy with one being attributed to Heyde.

Measures 9.75" x 7.5" x 4" (height includes flag) measurements for the hangar only.

Condition is very good for age and use but please note, ripple on one side of roof, paint wear, and wear to the lettering. Due to the age of this piece, we only gently tested the crank moving the airship out gently and turning the crank to move it back in and it works well. I have seen the zeppelin is removable, we chose not to try.
