This great looking Zeppelin is from Tippco (Tipp & Co, 1912-1971). It has decals Graf Zepplein DLZ 127 on each side with a Made in Germany decal on the bottom. Pressed tin with red propeller on back and litho gondola. Measures approx 17" long.

Tipp & Co was named after one of it's founding members Mrs. Tipp. in 1912. Mrs. Tipp sold her shares to Phillipp Ullmann who replaced her as a partner and managed the business by himself from 1918-1919. The other partner, Mr. Carstens, another partner, left the company entirely. Up until 1933, Ullmann with his department store connections, remained the only owner until 1933. That same year, Mr. Ullmann, who was Jewish, had to flee Germany at the start of WWII. In England, Ullmann continued to produce toys with Arthur Katz in a space at Bassett Lowke, Ullman and Katz made toys with proceeds used to help other Jewish refugees. He later founded Mettoys which later began producing Corgi Toys.

Condition is good for age with play wear. Minor dents throughout.. Light wear to litho.
