Pre-Columbian, Colombia, Tairona culture, ca. 1000 to 1500 CE. This is a stunning and wearable necklace comprised of 9 ancient hand carved and polished chalcedony and sodalite stone beads, and 10 additional modern brass spacer beads. The 8 smokey colored chalcedony are pecked into lengthy cylindrical shapes that flare outward at the open tips, and the modern spherical brass beads are added to both ends of the chalcedony stones to balance the arrangement. The strand is symmetrically strung, and the central spherical sodalite pendant exhibits mottled hues of cobalt blue and dark gray. Strung in modern times and capped with a metal lobster clasp and loop combo, this is a stylish necklace that is sure to accentuate any ensemble! Wearable as shown and strung in modern times. Chalcedony and sodalite beads are ancient; stringing, clasps, and brass beads are modern. Minor nicks and abrasions to some beads, otherwise intact and excellent. Great surface smoothness across most beads.
