Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Colima, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. A wonderful ensemble of hand-knapped obsidian pieces from the ancient Colima, all displayed within a modern Riker box. Included in this assembly are 7 fragmentary blades; 2 fragmentary points with tangs; 6 fragmentary pectorals with drilled suspension holes; 1 fragmentary core from which blade preforms were knapped; 5 fragmentary scalpel blades which are still incredibly sharp; 1 fragmentary mahogany obsidian pectoral; 1 fragmentary mahogany obsidian point; and 1 fragmentary mahogany discoid bead. Size of largest (blade): 4.85" L x 1.55" W (12.3 cm x 3.9 cm); (case): 12.25" L x 8.25" W (31.1 cm x 21 cm)
