Vintage Hakata Urasaki Doll Young Man With Fan. Made of ceramic. Hakata dolls are the best-known craft items from Fukuoka Prefecture, which lies in the north of the island of Kyushu. The origin of this local specialty goes back to around 1586-1608. Is approx 10 1/2" x 8 1/4" x 8 1/2" and weighs 1.42lb. The doll is in fair condition with a few cracks, chips and repairs (the head appears to have been repaired) and paint loss. The matting is made of resin.
