Description
Five (5) Historical English and German copperplate engravings with hand coloring on laid paper. 1st-3rd items: Three (3) engravings from "The Historical Antiquities of Hertfordshire" by Sir Henry Chauncy (1632-1719), Kt. Serjeant at Law, published London, Ben Griffin et al., 1700. Depicts English Manor Houses, including one (1) titled "Temple Dinsley", one (1) titled "Offley Place", and one (1) titled "Widyall Hall", all depicting the architecture, grounds, surroundings, and figures at these estates and marked with the families' coats of arms. One with later erroneous pencil inscription "C. Hawtey, 1700". Unframed. All housed between a paper mat and backing, not adhered to backing. Sights: 12 1/2" H x 16" W. With mat: 21 1/4" H x 24" W. 4th-5th items: Two (2) fruit engravings from "Hesperidum Norimbergensium..." and "Continuation der Nurnbergischen Hesperidum..." published by Johann Christoph Volkamer (1644-1720), Nuremberg, ca. 1713-14, including one (1) titled "Aranzo Con Frutto e Foglia Varigato/Palazzo del Sig. Lucatello a St. Pietro Montagnon" depicting oranges above an Italian Palazzo on a hillside, with Italian inscriptions, and with the artist's or engraver's name "Delfenbach" lower right; and one (1) titled "Aranzo da Portugal/In Hr. Wurzelbaurs Garten" depicting oranges above a German garden, with both Italian and German inscriptions, and with the artist or engraver's name "I.C. Steinberger" lower right. Unframed. Both 14" H x 9" W. All items early 18th century.

All works in overall good condition. Manor prints with some light creasing and all with light toning.
