Description
A volume published by William Pickering, which appears to have been the personal copy of American publisher, Thomas Bird Mosher (1852-1923). THE BOOK OF COMMON PRAYER AND ADMINISTRATION OF THE SACRAMENTS & OTHER RITES & CEREMONIES OF THE CHURCH ACCORDING TO THE LIFE OF THE CHURCH OF ENGLAND; together with the Psaslter or Psalms of David, pointed as they are to be Sung or Said in the Churches: and the form and manner of Making, Ordaining, and Consectrating of Bishops, Priests, and Deacons. London: William Pickering, 1844. Folio (14 x 19 in.). Paper overboard, green blocked decoration on front and back. Title page with engraved decorative armorial border illustration. Bookplate on pastedoswn reads: "Ex Libris Mdcccxcuij / Thomas B. Mosher," and features an open book held up by dolphins within a shield, and two griffins perched above. Poor. The paper spine is only a remnant, with binding exposed. The covers are nearly detached, and a large corner of the cover paper is torn off, showing the board underneath; allover worn, peeling, and scratched. Heavy foxing on the endpapers, but mostly lighter throughout.
