GOSCHEN, VISCOUNT. The Life and Times of Georg Joachim Goshen, Publisher and Printer of Leipzig, 1752-1828. In 2 Volumes Illustrated. New York: G. P. Putnam's Sons; London: John Murray; 1903. 8vo. Original green cloth, gilt embossed with applied leather label on spine, top edges gilt. Volume 1 has the owner's signature, American poet and educator William Herbert Carruth (1859-1924), and a tipped-in typed letter signed by author Viscount Goschen, dated May 14th, 1903, in response to an inquiry from Carruth regarding Seume materials (presumably Johann Gottfried Seume). Both volumes are in good condition. light edgewear and rubbing, head and foot of spines bumped, light foxing.
