General George S. Patton Signed Cut, PSA Slabbed and Graded NM-MT 8
Measuring 2.5" x 3.5", A.P.O. 758, postmarked June 20, 1943. Hand-addressed "G S Patton Jr." in black ink. The envelope has been encapsulated and graded NM-MT 8. Clipped and uneven edges, with slight soiling. Boldly signed.
George Smith Patton Jr. (1885-1945) commanded the U.S. Third Army in France and Germany after the Allied invasion of Normandy in June 1944. During the Allied occupation of Germany, Patton was named military governor of Bavaria. On December 8, 1945, he was severely injured in an auto accident and died in Germany twelve days later.
