Lev (Leon) Samoilovich Bakst (Russian, 1866–1924). Color pochoir on paper. Circa 1925. Costume Design, The Blue God Bayadere. Signed in print, lower right. Framed. Bakst, an artist, set designer, illustrator and designer, worked mainly in St. Petersburg and Paris. Master of easel painting and theatrical graphics, member of the World of Art association and theatrical and artistic projects of S. Diaghilev, one of the trendsetters of European fashion for exoticism and orientalism at the beginning of the 20th century.
