Description
pair of Chinese lacquer panels inladi with porcelain figures and bats. Two figures in porcelain on top of panels followed by four single porcelain figures. Three bats spaced on each panel. Metal hanging handles on top of both. Paper label affixed to back: "Mead Art building, Amherst College, 1952. Chinese Wall Panel: Porcelain figures inlaid on wood, Gift of Mrs. George L. Hamilton, June 1952. (George L. Hamilton (class of) '93).
D. 10" (25.4 cm), H. 55.5" (140.1 cm)
Provenance: Estate of Dr. Silvio Riccio,Internal Medicine Physician,Nanuet, New York,originally purchased from Iola Hoffman, Nyack,NY on May 5, 1978, for $750. With original receipt.
Condition: Good condition overall for age and use, wear to corners of frames, some cracking to the lacquer.
