Description
A Burmese ,19th C,gilt lacquered wood buddha. Peacefully sitting in meditation, his eyes cast downwards, his ears elongated, the buddha sits on a pedestal with legs folded and hands in a bhumisparsha mudra gesture, "touching the earth".
H. 23" (58.4 cm ), D. 12.75" (32.4cm)
Provenance: Estate of Dr.Silvio Riccio, Internal Medicine physician, Nanuet, New York,originally purchased on Feb. 21, 1978, for $450. come with original receipt.
Condition: Good condition with surface wear to paint over the wood, tip of hat missing, nicks. Two larger pieces of wood missing on front pedestal.
