Description
A Finely carved wooden staff with incised designs and a fine ancestor figure. Bow Stands were used to prop up the bow and arrows of a dignitary when not in use, there is also some mention of such stands playing a part in wedding ceremonies and the symbology of the hunter laying his arrows down to join with his new wife. Luba peoples, DRC/ Congo, Africa. Measures 31 inches on stand. Custom mounted.
