Handel Ware painted opal glass vase depicting the Hartford Soldiers and Sailors Arch, designed by noted Hartford, CT architect George Keller. American, late 19th - early 20th century. Produced by Handel Ware in Meriden, CT. A lasting symbol of Connecticut located in Bushnell Park, the Arch is a monument to those who died in the American Civil War. This vase depicts Keller's arch clearly and with detail, as well as portions of the park behind it. The background is rendered in red and green finish over white opal glass. Brass - colored metal base with three feet. 5 1/2" tall by 5" wide. Minor wear on surface and some patina.Keywords: antique, art, architecture, fancy, decor, decoration
