Description
As quoted from the Henri Lioret book by Julien Anton, “This machine was built by Edouard Cannevel, founder of the company Societe du Phonographe Francais. Henri Lioret merely added his trademark before selling it in 1902 under the name le Charmeur (The Charmer)”, page 180. Original finish oak base and square lid has been polished out. Very nice paint and pinstripe on top works. Edison style swing gate and latch. Concert mandrel. Original crank. Motor winds and runs. Carriage moves freely. Original reproducer marked REX Exposition Universale 1900 Grand Prix. Spider on reproducer is disconnected but present. Has rear mount “S” shaped crane and a 18.5 X 15.75” aluminum horn.
