Description
A Nepalese polychromed gilt-copper repoussé and wood figure of an attendant, 16th or 17th century. The figure is standing on a double lotus base, framed by an arched flaming mandorla, attached to the wooden backing with nails. Both arms of the figure are now missing. It possibly was a part of architectural decor. A Collectible Antique Nepal And India Buddhist Figurine. Provenance: Sotheby's, Property from the Estate of Laurance S. Rockefeller (October 11 & 12, 2005), Lot 39.
