Item Details

Description

This gorgeous "Euphonia" Hide-A-Phone was a sculpture designed for the most elegant of homes in the 1920s to conceal the candlestick telephones that some of that time considered unsightly. This one, a female bust with two cherubs on the back, was sculpted and signed by L. C. Mayer and copyright dated 1917. It is one of two designs available in the 1920s and is by far the rarer, especially in this condition. Cast in plaster and hand-painted, it is truly a work of art.
